The Annual Lake Shastina Chili Feast & Contest will be held at 6 pm on Saturday March 18th at the Community Center. The doors will open at 5:00 for contest entrants, with judging held at 5:30. As always, the contest is limited to the first 12 entrants. Those interested in entering should register and request an instruction sheet by calling Alan Martin at 859-5483.

Tom Wetter, Chairman of the Lake Shastina Chili Feast & Contest Committee, promises that, as in years past, this year’s Feast will offer great food, great fun, great music and a great opportunity to visit with your neighbors. The Committee will proudly be serving Colony Mountain Chili, a favorite from past events.

In addition to Chili, the Committee will provide coleslaw, bowls, dessert plates and plastic utensils.  Additionally, the Committee will serve coffee, tea and punch. However, those wanting a beverage other than those provided should bring their own.  Donations of cornbread and desserts will still be welcomed and appreciated.

Tickets for the Feast are $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for children under 12 and will be available at the door. These funds are used to cover the cost of the event. The Committee donates any excess funds to support community improvements and projects. As always, the top 3 finishers in the Chili Contest will be recognized.  Additionally, there will be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle. See you on March 18th. Remember to bring your appetite!
